Subject: SAR Jackets at long last!

At long last we have completed a Maritime GSAR jacket and pants designs with US based Mountain Uniforms! (MU) - http://www.mountainuniforms.com/sar.htm
Please note the two attached files with size, descriptions, and price information along with photos of what our gear will look like.
The prices quoted are in Canadian dollars and include all taxes and shipping.

To address a few questions which have risen:
1. Language used on gear: MU will produce in French but this must be in a minimum order size of 35. We suggest a separate order so as to prevent any possible size / language mix ups.

2. Re Fire retardant fabric:   The following is a quote from the agent we have been dealing with at MU: "We (MU) don't offer anything in Nomax or flame retardant specific fabric, but the fabric we use is not "flammable".  I have asked the fabric company to send us some test results on it to double check because the CHP (Local fire rescue team) here can't have their uniforms igniting (obviously) if they are standing too close to a wreck.     But for liability reasons and business reasons - we are sticking to cold-weather, waterproof breathable fabrics and other cold weather items.  We have looked into getting flame retardant fleece, but it is very expensive. We could do it with special request by someone with a big budget.  The fire department that are in our uniforms (pics) i.e. Prince William County, and Arlington and others don't use them (jackets) as fire - retardant uniforms - they use them for the numerous other jobs they do when they are on duty, but not fighting fires, so they can still stay in uniform."

3. Price is in Canadian dollars based upon a 98.5% Cdn dollar against the US. This will remain the same (price) for the 2007 and 2008 orders.

4. Price for each item is complete with applicable taxes, duty, and shipping included.

5. You may order a jacket now and pants later but the die lot may not be exactly the same.

6. Please note the first two order deadline dates are 28 December '07 and 19 Jan 2008. IF there is a demand we will continue to place subsiquent orders as quickly as we reach a minimum order of 35.  There is no time limit on the availability of this design.

7. When ordering a jacket and / or pants please complete the entire form,  make payment to Halifax Regional SAR, and post to the address on the order form. IF you wish to deliver an order in person you may do so.

8. Team orders: If you are ordering as a group, please complete individual order forms noting the team you are associated with.

We recognize that this is a significant investment to all who are SAR team members and for many this may appear, at first, to be out of budget range.  Perhaps a special fund raising event or project to raise  a portion of the cost for team members may be a good way help to many who would like / need this gear.

It may take up to four months for orders to arrive and we will keep you up to date on progress and arrival dates.

We have worked dilligantly for you and truly hope that this service gear will bring you safety, visibility, and pride in serving the people of our communities in all SAR related activities. Wear them with pride.

Thank you for your interest and patience with the development of this project.

On behalf of the 'Gear quest team' we wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, (what ever you celebrate) plus a safe, healthy and Happy New Year!
