McAdam Post of District # 2 with the assistance of the RCMP Helicopter and the Department of Natural Resources, have located four missing people who failed to reach their destination last night after a afternoon canoe trip on the St. Croix River. A father, two of his teenage children and a friend, all from Harvey, were on a canoe trip down the St. Croix River yesterday when they thought they had passed their final destination, being Scotch Brook. They tried to paddle up river when it started to get dark. They ended up staying on the side of the river until morning, when they continued paddling up river, hoping to arrive at their initial destination, which was a still a considerable distance down river. Le Détachement de McAdam du District 2, avec l'assistance de l'hélicoptère de la GRC et le ministère des Ressources naturelles (MRN), a trouvé quatre personnes qui ne sont pas arrivées à leur destination après un voyage en canot sur la rivière St. Croix hier après midi. Un père, deux de ses enfants adolescents et un ami, tous de Harvey, descendaient la rivière Saint-Croix en canot lorsqu'ils croyaient avoir dépassé leur destination finale, soit le ruisseau Scotch. Ils ont tenté de remonter la rivière, mais il a commencé à faire noir. Ils ont décidé de rester sur la rive jusqu'au matin, après quoi ils ont continué à monter la rivière, en espérant arriver à leur destination initiale, qui se trouvait en réalité à une distance considérable en aval. Les personnes ont été trouvées vers 10 h 30 par des employés du MRN qui patrouillaient sur la rivière. Toutes les personnes étaient en bonne santé. - 30 - Personne-ressource : Serg.
