Search continues for missing Fredericton woman

DOAKTOWN (CP) A darkcoloured, long-sleeved shirt, found near where a Fredericton woman disappeared three days earlier, has led RCMP officials to extend the search for the woman in a densely wooded area in central New Brunswick.

Judy Arsenault, 55, disappeared Thursday while walking along a trail with a friend about 50 kilometres north of Fredericton.

Arsenault suffers from seizures and regularly takes medication.

As many as 60 search and rescue officials had been combing the wooded area near McGivney, almost day and night, since Arsenault was reported missing.

Officials had said they would call off the search by the end of the day yesterday but a piece of clothing was found less than a kilometre from where Arsenault was last seen.

Searchers were expected to resume the hunt this morning.
