York-Sunbury Search and Rescue were called by the
Fredericton Police to assist in a search of the area between
Jaffrey Street and Friel Street for clues pertaining to the
Jaffrey Street fatal shooting, which occurred on July 15, 2003. A
team of twenty-nine people, working under the direction of search
manager Stephen Moore began a shoulder-to-shoulder search shortly
before 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning July 19th. In less than an
hour, one of the searchers located a firearm in some bushes a
short distance from the crime scene. Specific details of the
firearm and the location of seizure cannot be released at this
time, as the investigation is ongoing.
Fredericton Police
also seized a blue Cadillac Deville on Friday July 18th a few
kilometers outside the city limits of Fredericton. The Cadillac
was located in a heavily wooded rural area with the assistance of
the RCMP Helicopter. Fredericton Police would like to thank the
